Description
Here in Australia the New Holland Honeyeater is a common visitor to many gardens. This painting was based on a photo that I took at the Werribee Open Range Zoo. I was watching the Vervet Monkeys and trying to get a few decent shots. I was distracted by these honeyeaters visiting some sort of succulent and I loved the fact that the yellow in the wings was mirrored in the flowers. I could immediately see it as a painting with a nice purplish background. I never did get any good pictures of the Vervet Monkeys!
